So many of you know that Rebekah and I plan to take little Charleigh on her first international trip at a mere 7 weeks old to Victoria, Canada. What only a few people know, is that shortly after our trip to Canada, Charleigh will be taking a much longer trip. On June 13, Charleigh’s 2-month birthday, we will be packing up and heading to Denver, Colorado for a 6-month travel assignment!
The last time I did a travel assignment, I spent nearly 4 months in Phoenix, Arizona having fun working, training, and exploring places I’d never been before. Overall, it was a fantastic experience with only one issue. I missed Rebekah like crazy. We talked at least once a day and she came to visit but it simply wasn’t worth it to spend that much time away. That travel bug never left my ear though, still driving my desire to see what’s out there and to have new experiences. While strong, this desire would never outweigh my desire to be with Rebekah and Charleigh (and pups!).

After Rebekah and I had many discussions about what we want our future to look like, we agreed that traveling together is something that we want to do. I love my current job and coworkers at Palmetto Health and training has been as enjoyable and successful as ever over the past few months! But we would both regret not taking the opportunity to see the country outside of South Carolina, and for us to be able to also spend more time with Charleigh.
So with all of that said, if you find yourself in Denver, Colorado from June 15-December 15 then make sure to come see us! We just applied for our apartment and will be living and working in the Englewood area near Washington Park. I’m always open to riding and running route suggestions if you have any!
